Data controller

Data collected

We collect only the data needed to provide the service:

• the text of your letter, stored encrypted and read by no one;
• your email address (order confirmation, reminders and digital delivery);
• for postal deliveries, the recipient name and postal address, stored encrypted;
• minimal technical data related to payment (handled by Stripe).

Purposes

Your data is used to: create and store your letter until delivery, process payment, send you the confirmation and reminders, and deliver on the chosen date. We do not sell or share your data for advertising purposes.

Encryption and security

Letter content and postal addresses are stored encrypted. Service staff do not access the content of your letter. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.

Processors

We rely on providers acting as processors: Stripe (payment), Brevo (email sending) and a printing and postal delivery provider for physical letters. Each processes data solely for the contracted service.

Retention

Given the nature of the service, your data is kept until the chosen delivery date (up to 15 years), then deleted within a reasonable period, except where a legal retention obligation applies (for example, accounting records for invoices).

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You can exercise them by writing to Writetomyfutureself@gmail.com. Deleting a letter before its delivery is final. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Cookies

The site uses only the technical cookies required for its operation and for the payment process. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
